Zoany day

Zoany is not a spelling mistake. In my dictionary, it’s an official word.

Zoany /zυǽni׃/ .adjective (of weather, day, climate etc. in zoo) in or on which rain is falling on zoos or much rain usually falls on animals.

Why did I coin this word? Well, that my friends is what this post is about. You see, I’ve been kinda fed up with staying at home all the time during this school holidays. The farthest I went to was the supermarket in my taman. And my highest achievement was watching Miracle jump for the first time. Well, it was satisfying watching miracle bounding here and there but I began thinking to myself, “This can’t be!” I called my baby buddy to shop but she happens to be in Pulau Perhentian. Then I thought I could have tea with my mum but she was swamped with work. In the end, I did something so unlike me.

I packed up my guts as tightly as I could, screwed up my eyes and nose and told myself I will go SOMEWHERE with Miracle-regardless. Little did I know, I really needed all the valiantness in me. If you have been reading my posts, you will realize what a pampered wife and mom I am. I drive but not journey. Anywhere further than school, I will be chauffeur driven by my hubby. I live in KL but I am not much of a KL-ian. Ask me for directions and all you get is a blank look on my face. Suffice to say, I am RoadKill-it kills me to be on the road.

I though with the help of technology, I could get to Zoo Negara and have a fun day with Miracle. Unfortunately, the TM fellows had to change the phone cables the day I wanted to consult the almighty Google Earth. With no internet connection (Which by the way made me feel so frustrated and immobilized) I have to rely on something I don’t have much since I’ve already packed it– gut instinct. Should I go without seeking a map or should I just stay at home?

Finally, I decided to just make the journey. If we make it, then great. If we don’t, just go home feeling a teeny bit dejected. I did manage to find my way to the zoo after squeezing my way through the traffic jam. Come to think of it, I used to believe that Malaysian road signs are horrible. You’ll never get anywhere following the signs. Well, at least there is one place I can get to sticking to the road signs.

After beating around the bush for so long, let me get back to the title of this post. Yes, we managed to reach the zoo. The sky was cloudy and the weather was cool. After buying the tickets, we eagerly stepped into the zoo. Then the first droplet of water reached us. Eventually, it was drizzling. Finally, when Miracle and I ran back to the entrance again, it was pouring. We’ve only been there for 5 minutes! All Miracle saw was the monkeys. I stood there under the roof contemplating if I should leave. What do you think?
